hi matt, hope u're fine.
i red you like godard is it true? i can advise you if you want to watch some of his movies. could you send me a woody allen's postcard if you have the time?
xoxo from france
its true. i do like Godard. haven’t seen all his movies though, so if you have some recommendations please let me know . in fact, today i think i’m going to buy a copy of sympathy for the devil. you’ve inspired me. i think thats my favorite of his films that i’ve seen. the first time i saw it, the band was watching it when we came up with ther idea for Rubidoux on our first record. we would watch 20 minutes of it, go play for a while, watch 20 more minutes of it, go play, etc. speaking of jean luc, i made this shirt a few years back of Anna Karina. i like to wear it. everyone always thinks its Gaye Advert, which i don’t mind. by everyone, i mean that probably 2 people have ever commented on it. (and yes, i will send you a postcard. it might not be of woody allen, but i will send you one. just send your address.)
I've noticed a lot of film references with Cold War Kids, the reference to Contempt in the Audience Of One video and the Cassavetes quote on Mine is Yours. What are some of your favorite films?
hmm, i don’t think theres any Godard references in Audience, but maybe there is. i’ll ask nathan about that. I’m glad you noticed the john cassavetes quote in the record too. heres some of my favorite movies without thinking too hard about it. thanks for asking
