some of you have been asking me what happened to jonnie, i'm sorry if you've felt ignored at all,
We want to acknowledge and explain Jonnie’s departure, but, of course, it’s hard to sum up so much experience together. Seven years of writing, touring, and recording, pushing our work, creating, and craziness. Cold War Kids has been so much of our lives.
Jonnie felt he needed to pursue school and stop touring. We mutually agreed that it was his time to leave and he passed the baton to our friend Dann Gallucci. Jonnie’s talents will be missed. Cold War Kids has always been about the communal feel of the members, the music, the art, and the experience, so we couldn’t just replace him with anyone.
Dann has felt like a part of the band working and traveling with us for the last few years. He’s played guitar in sweet bands we admire; Murder City Devils and Modest Mouse and will be a great contribution to Cold War Kids. His zeal for music has rejuvenated ours. We are working on the next record now that we will do for the first time in our own studio in San Pedro with Dann as guitar player and producer. We are hungrier than ever to create fresh music and we are grateful to our fans for supporting us.
